Reproduction Boxes.... and even large display versions

Putting the new UV printer to more uses isn't hard to do as it will print on literally any surface. Making reproduction boxes of old diecast cars from days gone by therefore is a perfect opportunity to add that missing link to the casting you've just found at the toy fair, car boot sale or bargain eBay listing.

Theres a whole back catalogue which I'll get listed starting with Matchbox and Corgi but as I'm doing this if theres soemthing you're particularly after then please contact me and I'll hunt it out and add it ahead of the oens I'm working on.

I've got files for Benbros, Budgie, Crescent, Dinky, Kemlow, Mrklin, Mercury, Minimarque, Morestone, Schuco, Siku, Solido, Spot On and Tekno, it may take some time but I'll get there.

All boxes are scans of the originals so some, especially the really vintage ones, may have some signs of staining. Whilst I thought long and hard wether to enhance them I feel that would take a way the charm of the overall look of the finished pieces.

Its also worth remebering that printing, and the design themselves, some 50 plus years ago, was what it is today so typefaces, branding and the pictures themselves are often hand drawn and have a charm in themselves. So when reproducing these they have the old fashioned authentic feel.

The UV print itself is vibrant and offers a satin gloss feel and whilst this isn't as commensurate with the original boxes, which were often matt finished, these are more sturdy and will last longer. The print won't crack or fade over time and are available as either a sheet for you to cut and assemble yourself or fully made up. These are posted out flat and simply open up.

Finally, whilst building a few up I made some oversized ones as promotional items for when I attend toy and collector fairs and they have been received well. As a display feature there for I can offer any of the boxes as an oversized display piece and are approximately three times the size of the original. Dimensions vary depending on the original box but most are roughly 220mm long, 110mm high and 80mm deep.

These are reproduction boxes and clearly marked as so on the flap. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
